Description:
The health care setting provides a unique opportunity to identify, assist and provide both short and long term assistance to survivors of domestic violence. Health care provider’s responses can be reactive (Emergency Department) and proactive (routine screenings for minor illnesses, physicals, gynecological). This training will allow health care professionals to learn the reactive and proactive response in the health care setting while strengthen the confidence in assessing and screening patients for intimate partner violence.
Training is led by Rose Brooks Center Staff, Andrea Raya, Director of Community Programs.
This training provides:
- 3 Continuing Education contact hours, approved by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board
- 3 Continuing Education contact hours, in accordance with MO State Committee for Social Workers standards
- 3 Continuing Legal Education contact hours, approved by the Missouri Bar
