Description:
How does your organization provide services, resources, and support to domestic violence survivors from immigrant or refugee populations? Do you have practices in place to meet the needs of survivors with limited English proficiency? This course provides guidance and examples to make your services accessible to all survivors:
- Overview of domestic violence within the immigrant and refugee community
- Legal Remedies that may be available to immigrant survivors
- Examples of policies and procedures related to persons with LEP
- Examples of language resources
- How to work with an Interpreter
Training is led by Rose Brooks Center Staff, Annie Struby, Blueprint for Safety Coordinator & Equal Access Chair
This training provides:
- 4 Continuing Education contact hours, approved by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board
- 4 Continuing Education contact hours, in accordance with MO State Committee for Social Workers standards
- 4 Continuing Legal Education contact hours, approved by the Missouri Bar
