Description:
- Describe how abusive tactics may impede survivors’ ability to access medical care
- Describe possible physical health impacts of DV/IPV
- Describe impact of DV/IPV on mental health and its relationship to substance abuse
- Explore the relationship between stress in adults, toxic stress in children, ACE’s, and long-term health outcomes
- Define trauma and describe how trauma may impact a survivor’s interactions with medical providers
- Introduce and discuss resources that can empower survivors to access care
