Description:
For anyone who has struggled with how to help a client, colleague or friend experiencing an abusive relationship, this is a great follow-up course to The Nature and Dynamics of Domestic Violence. This all day training provides participants with practical skills to support domestic violence survivors in planning for safety in a broad range of contexts and situations:
- Principles and framework of risk assessment and safety planning
- Tools, scenarios, and real world examples
- Practice with experienced domestic violence advocates
Training is led by Rose Brooks Center Staff, Annie Struby, Blueprint for Safety Coordinator & Equal Access Chair, and Jesse Milliken, Shelter Manager
This training provides:
- 6 Continuing Education contact hours, approved by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board
- 6 Continuing Education contact hours, in accordance with MO State Committee for Social Workers standards
- 6 Continuing Legal Education contact hours, approved by the Missouri Bar
